• Take lead on an interview and ensure suspect welfare
• Explain the interview process to all those present and confirm understanding
• Use the required caution and confirm suspect’s understanding
• Issue the suspect their rights
• Conduct interviews with a suspect in a manner which is:
• ethical
• effective
• employ appropriate interview technique and communication methods
• makes appropriate use of exhibits
• addresses any incidents which arise (e.g legal or welfare)
