This course is where assessments are held for Unit 1 of the Level 3 Fisheries and Marine Enforcement Qualification. Unit 1 is designed to have learners demonstrating knowledge of the raft of legislation that you enforce. This includes knowledge of different types of legislation at national and European level, and the differences between primary and secondary legislation. You should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of the main components of fisheries legislation, where to find specific details of offences, and describe the underlying principles behind key pieces of legislation. You should also have knowledge of the main pieces of marine environmental legislation that regulate the wide range of marine activities that you have enforcement responsibility for.
